Families in Redmond and across Central Oregon can join our interest list now, ahead of our Winter 2027/28 opening.
The Memory Care Gap in Redmond and Central Oregon
Deschutes County’s senior population is growing. Redmond and Bend both have senior living options, but specialized memory care is harder to find. Existing memory care facilities in the region average 23-plus years old, with layouts and staffing models built for an earlier standard of dementia care.
Majestic Ridge is a new alternative, built from the ground up for residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, rather than a wing added onto a general assisted living building.
- New construction, designed for memory care from the first blueprint
- Higher staff-to-resident ratios than older regional facilities
- Single-story, secure layout that reduces anxiety and supports safety
- Two miles south of downtown Redmond, an easy drive from Bend via US-97
- Families involved in care planning, not just visiting hours
Our Approach to Memory Care
Majestic Ridge cares for one population: residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The building, the daily schedule, and the staffing model are built around that one job.
Purpose-Built Design
Suites average 350 square feet with private bedrooms and bathrooms — more than four times the space of the State mandated 80-square-foot per resident, and larger than many of the rooms common in older institutional memory care. The simple layout removes the confusion of long corridors, and a secure outdoor courtyard gives residents room to walk and get fresh air without leaving supervised grounds.
Dementia-Trained Staff
Caregivers are trained to recognize and respond to the behavior changes that come with cognitive decline. Staffing ratios are set higher than regional norms, so caregivers have time for individual residents instead of moving room to room on a fixed schedule.
Structured Routines
Consistent mealtimes, familiar activities, and the same caregivers day to day give residents a predictable rhythm — one of the few things memory loss doesn’t take away.
On-Site Nutrition
Meals are cooked in our open-air kitchen by our on-site chef, not trucked in from a central kitchen. Food is treated as part of care, not a line item.
A Day in the Life at Majestic Ridge
Good days for residents with memory loss are built from small, familiar moments, not big activities. That’s what we plan for.
- Home-cooked meals on-site: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks
- Daily activities matched to each resident’s interests and current ability
- A secure outdoor courtyard for fresh air, walking, and gardening
- On-site salon services — haircuts and grooming without an outing
- Quiet time and social time, set by each resident’s own pace
- Family visits in common areas built for real conversations, not a waiting room
Our Promise to Your Family
Caring for someone with memory loss is hard, and it’s personal. Families working through it deserve straight answers, not reassurance without substance.
- Dignity, regardless of how advanced a resident’s cognitive decline is
- Security that protects residents without making the building feel like an institution
- The same caregivers, day after day, not a rotating roster of unfamiliar staff
- Families treated as partners in care planning, with input on daily routines, not just visiting hours
- Regular updates and direct answers to hard questions, not deflection
