Memory Care Resources for Oregon Families

Memory Care is specialized care designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. It goes beyond general assisted living by providing structured routines, dementia trained caregivers, enhanced safety features and an environment designed to reduce confusion and anxiety.

At Majestic Ridge Senior Care, Memory Care is our sole focus. Every aspect of the home, staffing model and daily life is intentionally designed to support individuals experiencing cognitive decline.

Memory Care is appropriate for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other dementias who require additional supervision, support with daily activities or a structured environment to maintain safety and quality of life.

It is often considered when a loved one:

• Experiences frequent confusion or disorientation

• Has difficulty with personal care or medication management

• Is at risk of wandering or safety concerns

• Needs consistent routines and specialized support

Families are encouraged to reach out early to discuss whether Memory Care may be appropriate now or in the future.

Majestic Ridge Senior Care will support individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, including but not limited to:

• Vascular dementia

• Lewy body dementia

• Frontotemporal dementia

• Mixed dementias

Care will be individualized based on each resident’s needs, abilities and progression rather than diagnosis alone.

Majestic Ridge Senior Care is a planned Memory Care community scheduled to open in Winter 2027/2028.

We are currently in the development and planning phase, including design, licensing and operational preparation. Families are encouraged to join our interest list to receive updates and planning information as we move closer to opening.

At this stage, we are offering an interest list, not a formal waitlist. Joining the interest list allows families to:

Our goal is to provide higher acuity care without sacrificing dignity, comfort or quality of life.

Yes. Each resident will have a private bedroom and bathroom designed for safety, comfort and familiarity.

Rooms are approximately 350 square feet and allow space for personal belongings, photos and memory cues that help residents feel at home.

Every suite is about 350 square feet and comes fully furnished, so there’s no furniture to move. Each one has:

• an adjustable bed, which most homes don’t have but care in our setting requires
• a power lift recliner that helps residents sit down and stand up safely
• built-in drawers and closet space for clothing
• a locking drawer for valuables
• a bookshelf for photos and keepsakes
• a wall-mounted TV, with TV service included
• a cool-touch electric fireplace with a flame effect, run by remote control

Because the bed, chair and storage are chosen for memory care, we ask families not to bring furniture. The built-in drawers take the place of a dresser, which leaves more open floor for walking safely and room for a wheelchair if one is ever needed.

We provide all bed linens, towels and washcloths. Please do bring the things that make it feel like home: family photos, a favorite blanket or quilt, books and keepsakes. Framed pictures and wall art are welcome, and our team will hang them for you. We’ll just make sure nothing sticks out far enough to catch someone walking by.

Our resident to caregiver ratio will be no more than 8:1.  We will staff with direct caregivers to that level and supplement with universal workers for extra care as necessary.

Additionally, we will have an On-site Administrator and an Assistant Administrator, so there will be on-site management available seven days per week.

We will also have an On-site Chef providing 3 healthy and nutritious meals a day, plus snacks,

and an Activity director to lead engaging person-centric and group activities.

Yes. All caregivers receive dementia-specific training focused on:

• Communication techniques

• Behavior support

• Understanding cognitive decline

• Responding calmly to distress or confusion

Ongoing training and oversight help ensure care is delivered with consistency, empathy and professionalism.

Daily life at Majestic Ridge follows predictable routines that support comfort and familiarity. Each day includes:

• Regular times for meals and snacks

• Personal care and grooming support

• Gentle activities and engagement

• Opportunities for rest and quiet time

• Time outdoors in secure spaces

Routines provide structure, but care remains flexible to meet each resident’s needs and preferences.

Activities are designed to be gentle, purposeful and appropriate for individuals living with dementia. Examples include:

• Music and art

• Reminiscence activities

• Light movement and exercise

• Sensory engagement

• Social interaction at each resident’s pace

Participation is always optional and supported respectfully.

Meals are prepared on site by a dedicated chef and are:

• Dietitian approved

• Served on consistent schedules

• Designed to support routine and familiarity

Special dietary needs, texture-modified diets and hydration needs are accommodated.

Majestic Ridge Senior Care is located in Redmond, Oregon, two miles from downtown, and serves families throughout Central Oregon, including:

• Redmond and the surrounding unincorporated area
• Bend
• La Pine
• Sunriver
• Deschutes County

Hiring is expected to begin in Fall 2027.
